Our Spanish Class at Nimitz Ninth Grade High School
Hola! My name is Adriana Manriquez and I will be your daughters/sons Spanish Teacher this school year. I would like to take this opportunity to introduce myself. I am a proud native Houstonian; I was born and raised here in Houston, Texas. Although I did attend school abroad (Mexico) during my 7th grade year and my 10th grade year. Another fact about me is that I am a fan of the Texans, the Saints and the Steelers football team. The Rockets are my favorite basketball team and as for baseball, I will ALWAYS be an ASTROS fan! Another sport that I enjoy watching is soccer!!! My favorite soccer teams are Mexico, USA and Argentina. Outside of sports my hobbies include running, biking and exercising. I am also a big fan of education and this is why I am a TEACHER!
It is exciting to be a part of your child’s educational system. Our classroom time will emphasize and focus on the Spanish speaking countries of the world. This school year will be full of Spanish objectives that will motivate, intrigue, capture the student’s imaginations and promote interest in the language of Spanish. Our lesson plans will involve learning about another countries culture, language, heritage and the countries traditions. During this school year I will assign, homework, projects and classwork.
These objectives will be posted on my Weebly account that is accessible through the internet for students and their parents at any time. All you will have to do is on the internet search engine type in “ensenameespanol.weebly.com” and the website will pop up. In Weebly I will post an overview of what the classroom instruction will look like for the current semester. There may be variations within the lesson plans at times due to holidays and unforeseen events. The website is to keep you informed and aware of the lessons. On quiz and test dates, I will keep on the dates that I have stated on Weebly, unless of course there is an emergency.
Another way to communicate with me is through e-mail, and my e-mail address is email@example.com. Sometimes it may be easier to ask a question or send a message via e-mail because my conference period may be short and limited. Please be advised that my first priority is to teach our students the content of Spanish from 07:00 a.m. – 14:45 p.m., Monday thru Friday. I will check my emails every afternoon and will respond just as soon as I can. You can call the school at 281-222-2929 and leave a message if you prefer this method and I will return your call as soon as possible.
I am very excited to have your child in my classroom and I am looking forward in creating a relationship with your daughter/son and yourself!
